What happened to the time? I have found it pretty hard to upload pics to blogspot since we take so many. It takes forever to do and formating can be a pain. I've decided to post updates here so everyone knows what's going on. I'll be adding you to my Snapfish account so albums will be emailed out. KINDERGARTEN!
YAY! Jackson gets to go to school! He is so excited he can hardly stand it :) I bought him all his school supplies and a few new clothes and he just about lost his mind. I drew the line at sleeping with his Batman backpack though. He's learning to tie his new shoes and I have him convinced he an't go to school until he learns, so he is working hard. He has been talking about making new friends and seeing some of the neighborhood kids as well. We have back to school meeting with his teacher on the 21st so I have a feeling no one will be sleeping much once he gets to see his new classroom.
Dan his healing well from his giant laceration. His shin was a little yellow from bruising, but the actual cut is healing pretty well. He's taken the bandage off and is just wearing a big bandaid. He has no leg hair left, which is kind of funny, but other than that he seems okay. He gave me quite the scare and I got one more reminder how stubborn he is. He refused to go to the hospital even though he's on my insurance. He was convinced he could fix himself and I have to admit, he did a good job. Apparently, he seems to think that he needs to lose more than a pint of blood or be missing a limb before he'll see a doctor.
Will has developed a funky rash on his face we are trying to heal. His doc seems to think he might have severe dry skin, but nothing seems to be working. I'm going to be taking him to a dermatologist that works with kids as soon as I can. He's making me nervous because it looks really nasty. He has a nasty road rash on his face too because Jackson literally ran poor Will over with his 4-wheeler. It was scary and even when Jack got a spank he insisted it wasn't his fault and that Will was just in the way. My lord. My children are going to give me a heart attack!
I will post the results as soon as we meet with the doctor. I also need to see him about a suspicious mole, but I have a feeling I'm okay and just being paranoid. I have a fear of skin cancer and want to make sure everyone is healthy. I took Jack in once for a mole he has on his shoulder and the doc told me he was find and to just keepo an eye on it. Poor Jack. I keep an eye on it at least once a week and he's started talking about his mole like it's a person ;)
I have gone back to work and am desperately trying to finish painting my room. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but it's huge and I am nowhere near done. I will be putting in some late hours tomorrow and Tuesday. Wednesday we have meetings all day and once all the other teachers arrive I will be working on curriculum and organizing my room. The LAST thing I want to do is paint! I'll keep you posted in the upcoming weeks.

Summer Vacation!
Sorry it's been so long since I posted! I spent a week on Utah at Debate camp and have been spending time getting ready for school! YIKES!
Thank goodness Grandma Umina came to stay with us! I don't know what we would have done without her. Of course, the kids LOVED spending their days giving grandma a hard time :) but sadly, she got sick! So here's the breakdown:
Thursday-Dan's tummy is rumbling
Friday-Will gets sniffles
Sunday he starts to get a fever and toss is cookies
Monday-more cookie tossing and fever
Tuesday-Will goes to the doctor to make sure it's just a tummy bug
Wednesday-He starts to recover
Thursday-good
Friday-Grandma starts tossing cookies
Saturday-Dan feels icky again
Sunday-I start to toss my cookies
Monday-Still feeling icky
Tuesday-Getting better, but now it's time for Grandma to go!!
WHEW!
Since then I've been busy taking the kids to play dates, the library, and running to last minute doctor appointments before school starts.
I've also been going to different schools to see which is best for Jackson. He's starting kindergarten this year and I am SO SAD! My baby is growing up! I did find a school I like, but it's in the opposite direction of my job and Will's daycare. They only have half day kindergarten here, so that is going to be a logistical nightmare since Dan works a funky schedule. I've looked a a dozen different scenarios, but I'm not too thrilled with any of them :( My only other choice is to send Jack to a Catholic school across the street from my school, but the neighborhood isn't good and I don't think we could afford it. Sigh.....
Anyway, we are just trying to enjoy the last two weeks of vacation before life gets REALLY nuts :) I'm also looking for an activity for Jack once or twice a week. He likes Kung Fu Panda, so maybe Karate? LOL.
I'm going back to work two weeks early to get my room put together and to get ready to welcome the new teachers. I'm in charge of getting some welcome to Desert Pines candy jars and gifts together for the new kids on the block. On top of that, I'm painting my classroom because the school is too cheap to do it and my boss bought me the paint. I was excited about it at first until I thought about the SIZE of the room. Ug!!

Summer is Here!

YAY! It's summer! We've been busy ;)
My last night of classes was June 17th and I am SO happy they are done. I've been in school since September and I am totally burned out. I earned 18 credits and moved up one level on the payscale which is good, but I'm having a hard time thinking about doing it again. It would be nice to max my salary, but it took a toll on everyone having to be gone twice a week for that long.
I've been busy cleaning and cleaning and cleaning! I also have a few minor repairs to do and a long list of "to-do's" and summer is already looking too short!!
My friend Jennifer moved to Las Vegas last month and we finally got together. It's been about 15 years since we saw each other last and it was great to hang out. We took the kids to the children's library and then McDonalds on the way to the Dinosaur Park and we just had an awesome day.
We also too our first camping adventure with the kids! WHEW! Taking young children camping is quite the undertaking. I remember when camping was a tent, a sleeping bag, and some chips! HA! Now I needed diapers, wipes, bug repellent, sunscreen, medicines (in case anyone got sick), a first aid kit, lots of extra clothes, and so much more. Even the dog got in on the act so I needed bowls, dog food, her leash...well you get the idea. My goodness it's a good thing we have that huge van!
We wanted to camp on Mt. Charleston, but it was too windy so after we spent the afternoon up there we came home, made a new plan and left the next morning for Bryce Canyon and Navajo Lake in Utah. It was BEAUTIFUL and made me more than a little homesick. The trees! The green! The water! We really had fun and only had a few snags. Will was fussy since this was his first night away from home. The new sounds and smells, and the breeze flapping the tent were all a little too much I think. It was FREEZING cold at night, but we came prepared. Will had a very hard time settling in and Jack whined a little, but we got through the night. Of course, Dan and I didn't sleep a wink since we were worried about turning our children into popcicles :(
The morning was wonderful and Dan took a stroll to the water and tried to catch some fish. He says they were all over the place, but he had the wrong lures in his tackle box so he didn't catch anything. Jack gulped down my famous camp eggs and hashbrowns, but later he tossed his cookies all over himself in the back of the van. EW! He told me his tummy hurt, and honestly, the night before I was feeling a little sick too. We think it was the McDonalds lunch on the drive up. Poor Jack...it was really nasty!
Anyway, we got home safely and with no other mishaps. We smelled like campfire smoke, had dirt smudges everywhere, and battled a leaking cooler but it was worth it :)

Trip to the Park!
It was beautiful here this moring so I decided to take the kids to the park. Dan was working, so it was up to me to make they had fun! Jackson has been working on his behavior and filled his chart with lots of stickers so he earned the trip. They both seems to have a great time and here are a few pictures of them having fun.
We also went to the Shark Reef the weekend of Will's birthday so there are a few pictures from that too :)

BIRTHDAY BOY!!
WOW! William is ONE! Our little boy is growing so fast it's hard to believe. Will had a great time with his cake and presents and even shared his new toys with Jackson. He liked the decorations on his cake as much as he like eating it and we took some great pictures. Enjoy!
Will loved the balloons ON the cake more than the cake :)
What on EARTH?! Goodness! Too much sugar!
I love the look on Jackson's face....like it's for him :)
Oooo...a steering wheel and buttons!
And a cell phone? Hmmm..
Dad's teaching him bad habits! No driving and talking at the same time.

School's Out! (Almost)
Well, here we are just a few days away from William's first birthday!!! I can't believe it!! He has grown so much and brought so much joy into our lives it's amazing. His little personality is coming out and he has a few things in common with him mom: he has a short temper, he knows what he wants, and he loves to giggle; and he has a few things in common with dad: he loves things that go, smiles easily, and is very affectionate.
We haven't decided what we are doing exactly, but it's going to be a busy weekend. Our little neighbor is having a birthday party on Saturday and Sunday we are having some friends over for some bbq.
Ally is growing like a weed and I think I may have to buy stock in dog food because that little girl can EAT. Dan spoils her and he even gave her some steak the other night. I was glad she spent some time outside after that because I didn't want to be in the same room with her when things started to digest ;)
Dan is still working hard and keeping a crazy schedule, but he gets lots of time with the kids and that's all that matters. He's hoping to get a new route up to Utah which would be awesome so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
My students are as crazy as ever and ready to be out for summer. Sadly, I had one student make the bad choice to snort cocaine in my classroom so he was expelled after much drama. Kids were pulled out of class to give statements and they weren't allowed to speak to one another until the police had a chance to question them. After he was expelled he decided to come back to class and yell at the class while giving up the one fingered salute. It was a little freaky because he can be pretty hostile. I'm sad and disappointed in him. I've been working all year to try and get him on the right track, but he's just not ready I guess. His mom is going to be sending him to boot camp for troubled kids. I just hope it works.

Happy Mother's Day!
We had a great family day today and Dan let me get some extra sleep! Not only did I get to sleep in, I also got to take a NAP! Nice! Dan and the boys took me to Aliante Station for the Mother's Day Breakfast Brunch and while we had a hour's wait, it was worth it :) There were handsome men walking around giving carnations and champagne to all the mothers and the food was delish! I swear the man who gave me my flower looked like Nicholas Cage ;)
Things are just as crazy at work, but we are wrapping up the year and the end is in sight. I'm very happy about bringing this year to an end. It has been very exciting, but exhausting and I'll be glad to take a break.
Things are pretty much the same around here, but I've been making a list of all the little things I need to do over the summer. Things like fix the toilet paper holder in the bathroom, print some pictures and put them in frames, organize my books, etc. All the stuff I think about right before I fall asleep, but forget to do the minute I wake up in the morning. The list is getting longer and longer, but if I do one or two things a day, I should be done by August :)
We are gearing up for William's first birthday and I am looking forward to watching him attack his cake. He has a sweet tooth, so it should be lots of fun. We are going to have a nice family party since it's Will's first. I love birthdays and will make sure both kids have lots of chances for the big parties, but the first one is just for us.
