Happy New Year!
Sorry it has been so long since I posted, but things have been crazy around here and more than a little stressful. So here's the latest scoop!
We found out that with the state budget crisis, I may not be getting the pay raise I have been working so hard for. As you know, I have night classes twice a week. I've been doing this since September and was supposed to continue through June, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish. First, the tuition is taken out of my check and we could use the money. Second, I was supposed to move up to a big raise next year after adding all these credits to my license. Now, the governor isn't sure that will happen so this may have been a colossal waste of time and money.
On the upside we have met some great people in the neighborhood and they are willing to help watch the kids in the late afternoon so Dan can go on interviews if he gets any.
School has been a challenge with finals coming up next week, but I have been chosen to lead the curriculum team for the Freshman Academy for next year, so I feel good about that. It will look great on a resume! I'm also flattered that my vice principal has so much faith in me. It's nice to know he sees the work I do and appreciates it :) It's hard to concentrate on work when I'm so worried about my family though.
We are all healthy which is a blessing. I've had to see the doctor once for stress, but other than that I'm good. She gave me a new headache medication that should help with the migraines and make it easier to get through the day when they hit. It's hard to get out of what's called a cycle without strong medicine to break it. So far so good!
Needless to say, we could really use some prayers tossed our way. I'm thankful that the boys are healthy and happy (although Jack misses school) and that we still have a roof over our heads for now. I'm also thankful that Dan and I are stronger than ever! I have good friends at work and even Stella Kitty is doing well, so there are a few wonderful things to focus on :)
Here are a TON of pictures, so enjoy!
Love,
Christine
Hmm....children and electrical cords. No good!
