Hey, all!!
I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. As you all know we have moved and things are still not back to normal. Dan and I did all the moving alone while trying to keep the kids in check. Jackson seemed to pick at Will even more, and every time we took boxes to the van I was worried someone would take a tumble down the stairs!
We moved ALL the appliances (I never want to move a stove down an L shaped flight of stairs again!) and it took us an entire week. We still have a few things to get but we have been so busy it's been hard and, frankly, I'm exhausted. My night classes are really starting to take its toll so I am really looking forward to summer break. Then again, it won't really be a break since I'll be home with the boys AND a little girl. Someone Dan knows has a 6 year old daughter. They are paying too much for childcare and she's going to start 1st grade in the fall. For now, they need someone to watch her for the summer, so I guess I'll be doing my best to keep everyone occupied! It should be interesting since it gets too hot to play outside.
I have taken on a lot of responsibility at work which seems to be growing more every week. Dan told me to stop doing a good job and they'll stop relying on me to run some new programs. He thinks I'm nuts because this extra work doesn't equal extra pay, but I am convinced I am building a solid foundation in case I decide to become an administrator some day. I don't really want to be a VP or Principal, but you never know!
Will has a whole mouth full of teeth and he uses them. He eats more than I thought a boy his age could eat!! Jackson is picking up his appetite as well, but I have no clue where he puts it. He's still skinny as ever and I have to laugh at his knobby knees ;) I'll be getting some material for Jack over the summer to help get him ready for kindergarten. I'll also be working with a friend of mine about his behavior. It's not any worse than other 4 year old's, but he exhibits the behaviors of gifted children, and while ALL moms think their kids are gifted, Dan and I think there may be some truth to it in Jack's case. This can be tricky and will require a daily schedule to help him stay focused.
We are hoping Will decides to take some independent steps soon...we can't wait to see him walk! He stands alone and can do things (drinking from his baba and snacking) while standing so we keep trying to encourage hime to take that step! I hope we can get it on tape so everyone can see ;)
We have a new addition to the family too. Her name is Ally and she's a Pitbull puppy. She's about 8 weeks old and VERY rambunctious!!! She has chewed some things to bits, including the plug to one of my lamps, a few matchbox cars, William's stuffed monkey (from Santa), and one of Dan's socks. Why did I agree to this again?! She's having a hard time with the potty training, so I am very glad we have tile floors....they make for quick clean up ;)
On top of that, I have had it with my baby weight and have started running again. I get up at 5am and plop a very sleepy baby into the jogging stroller and hit the road. I hope to be able to run a local 5K in June and a 10K by October. After that, if I can find the time, I'll start marathon training. That takes a lot more time and guided training, but I hope I can make room in my schedule to do it. I won't be ready THIS winter, but I hope to be able to run one the following spring or summer(2010). We'll see!!!
