Fun at the Track

Well, we headed out to the track in Boulder City today expecting to spend most of the day, but Dan had a little spill and cut the day short. We had lots of fun and I managed to get a few good pictures in before he crashed. I didn't see the actual thing, but he tells me it was pretty nasty. He thinks he may have to replace his handlebars already! Anyway, here are the pictures!

Chillin' out by the track

Having fun

The results of Dan's exciting jump! It may not look like much, but it hurt pretty bad.

Dan after one too many Oxycodone. Nice. He's funny, but
kind of annoying when he's off his rocker :)

It's a boy!! (we think)

I have no idea what the second was shows, and they are upside down
for some reason, BUT the top one shows his little booty to the right,
thigh bones pointing left and his
tiny little "twig and berries" in the middle:)

Hey, y'all! Some good news! We went to the doctor today and he's 90% sure it's a boy. I'm a few days shy of 16 weeks along so what we DO see is very, very tiny :) I go in for some blood work after the first of the year to rule out any problems and/or birth defects. This is JUST A PRECAUTION, so no worries. Since I'm the lovely young age of 35 these tests are routine, and because I've had a successful and healthy pregnancy in the past, we are looking pretty good.

Two weeks from today we go to The Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine for the state-of-the-art ultrasound that will look at everything to make sure there are 10 fingers and toes, a strong spine, bone length, ribs, etc. We should also be able to get a good picture of the baby's face (if he cooperates). We will also go through what they call "genetic counseling". Basically, they look at our health histories to see if there is any reason for extra blood-work but according to Dan, his family is pretty darn healthy so I'm not worried about that. Of course, as many of you know, I'm adopted, so my medical history is limited, but over the years I've had extensive medical work ups to test for just about everything, so I'm not worried about that either.

The facility is one of the best in the city, so we know we are going to be treated well and thoroughly. We will keep everyone posted as the next few weeks go by, so don't worry! We'll also post some ultrasound pictures as soon as we can.

Moving on, here are a few pictures of Christmas morning!

Ooo! New Tonka Truck!

Ninja Turtle madness!

Jack got his hands on the camera and caught Daddy snoozing.

What?! "I don't do mistletoe"? Not if Mommy can help it! Gimme smooches!

Jack's cool new toy! Now he can ride with Daddy.

Get outta my way!

Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas everyone! We've had a wonderful few days here in Las Vegas and we hope you have all had a joyus Christmas. We stayed up late last night wrapping gifts for Jackson and it was well worth it. My heart was overflowing at the sight of our little man running in this morning and exclaiming Santa brought him presents! His eyes were enormous and he couldn't stand still! Of course, we ran out as soon as possible to unwrap presents and Jack got so excited he started shaking. It was adorable! Anyway, a few Tennage Mutant Ninja Turtles later Jack got his BIG surprise. A little Yamaha four-wheeler for him to ride just like Daddy! He was afraid of it at first, but he's warming up to the idea of riding it. He's managed to go back and forth in the living room a few times and seems pretty excited about it.

As many of you know, Dan got his present a little early and was happy to see I had bought (financed) a new '08 Yamaha yz450 for him. I had it delivered to work in order to surprise him. It would have worked better if Jackson hadn't run in first and screamed, "Dan you got a new motorcyle!" Dan was surprised nonetheless, and I am officially the coolest girlfriend in the office :) Dan bought me some beautiful diamond earrings that I LOVE and will be wearing on a regular basis. All the girls at school will be jealous!

We are very happy and are so blessed to be together. While we may be a little unconventional, we are a happy little family and I don't think life could be better :)

Anyway, enough of the mush! We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The new toy!
Off for a ride!

Hi, y'all!

Well, sheesh! I guess since everyone is doing it, we should too :) Of course, if my parents found out I was following the crowd I would get the, "If everyone jumped off a cliff" speech :) However, I think this is a great crowd!

We are doing pretty great over here in Las Vegas, but I will admit, I'm a little tired of the big city. Las Vegas has lots to offer, but it's hard to find things for families to do. Jackson is wonderful and informs me on a regular basis he's a big kid. We are making big strides in the potty training arena, so we are hoping to get rid of the pull-ups as soon as possible. At this very moment "the boys" are watching some space movie with robots in it and believe it or not, even have their heads tilted the same way. Beautiful!

We look forward to seeing some of the Umina clan for Thanksgiving and wish you all a great (and safe) Halloween!
